Cotton Candy

I mentioned Cotton Candy in an earlier post, which got me thinking of an elegant cotton-candy-themed wedding...

1. Decor: Pale pink roses and peonies (mixed with white or pale blue)
2. Pushcarts: Pushcart Parties in NYC rent pushcarts for cotton candy, popcorn, hot pretzels, snow cones, and other carnival-inspired treats to hand out during dancing or the afterparty.
3. Interactive: a make-your-own candy apple station (chocolate or candy-covered) with various toppings
4. Have an artist paint your reception, or a silhouette artist cut silhouettes as favors for guests.
5. Invitations: Calligraphy letterpressed in pink onto thick white cardstock, with lots of flourishes.
6. Cocktails: Mini hamburgers and hot dogs, and french fries in little paper cones, presented on silver trays.
7. If it's outdoors, pink lanterns will help create a magical ambiance. It's very important the feeling of the event be elegant and magical, not tacky. This can be achieved with swagged and draped tenting, a white dance floor, and great use of lighting (such as sunjars).
8. Indoors: Use the photo above as inspiration. A glamorous indoor wedding would include columns, tiled floors, and chandeliers. The George Peabody Library at Johns Hopkins would be perfect!
