Secret Garden

Ideas for a Secret Garden-themed Wedding:

1. Location--keep your location a secret until a few hours before the wedding, when you will have group transportation, like vintage trolleys, waiting outside the hotel where they are staying. Hatley Gardens in Victoria is an ideal setting, as is a setting in the woods. Make sure the location is stunning.
2. Save the Date: I love the antique keys and calligraphy card above, from May-Belle. Post them in a little box.
3. Invitation: Include a copy of the book The Secret Garden, or a reproduction of the cover on cardstock.
4. Go wild with the Victorian/gate and key motif (magazine image above from Brides Florida). These key stamps above are from Zazzle.
5. Tie vintage keys to your escort cards. You can buy them on ebay or House of Antique Hardware. Image above from procorbis.
6. Favors: Tie a ribbon in your wedding colors (love the use of the color lavender) to a key bottle opener. Or, give guests silhouette cookies from Victor Trading Co. Put them in a little lock-and-key wooden box. Have the key tied to the escort cards, which guests will need to open their favor box when they get to the table.
7. Napkins: Tuck a sprig of lavender inside guests' napkins.
8. Dresses: I love these flowy and romantic dresses from Brides.
9. Other uses: Incorporate the key theme by having a pianist play at dinner. Serve roast turkey for dinner and key lime pie for dessert.
