Small Plates

lInstead of a three-course menu, see if you're caterer can offer your guests six or seven small portions for the same price. Giving your guests variety will give them something to talk about and something to remember--the night will never be boring!

This is kind of along the lines of a standing cocktail reception which I think is a fantastic idea for a formal evening wedding. If you have a 6 p.m. ceremony, and then just have heavy hors d'oevres after, people will be ready to dance much sooner than they otherwise would! I hear this is gaining popularity in TX.
