Table

What a gorgeous table. Ritzy Bee's suggestion for an "unwedding" is great! That is, a small low-key gathering in an Italian restaurant, with a yummy wine tasting/pairing meal, simple flowers, and olive oil for favors. Or this would make a great rehearsal dinner!

Tips

Three great tips I found from Brides.com when clearing out my old email address:
  1. If you ever break a plate, lose a fork, or just want that gravy boat you forgot to register for and can't find your pattern, Replacements LTD can track down over 200,000 patterns.
  2. A drop of Visine in each eye just before you walk down the aisle will give you superbright orbs.
  3. Number the guest list and the backs of the RSVP cards, in case someone forgets to write in his or her name.

Ronald McDonald House

Dear Readers: I wanted to let you know that one of our sponsors, Beau-coup, has signed up to participate in the Big Sur half marathon on November 15, 2009 to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House, which creates a home-away-from-home for families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving specialized treatment at local hospitals. It costs $95 per family for one night at the Ronald McDonald House, but the family is only charged $10 per night, and no family is ever turned away for non-payment.

Their goal is to raise enough money to support 10 families for one year at the Ronald McDonald House (a sum that amounts to $36,500.00). Beau-coup has generously agreed to donate $9000, but they need help to raise the rest of the money. If you are interested in donating, please go to http://www.firstgiving.com/beaucoup (and all donations are 100% tax deductible). Thank you!

Sponsor Welcome: Invite by Voice

I am SO excited to welcome an extraordinary company called Invite by Voice as a new sponsor on Victoria with Roses! I have featured their invitations before, but am thrilled to write about them again because they are totally beautiful and unique. Imagine your guests receiving a beautiful box that plays Blue Danube when they open it... You can choose from cards, folios, or silk boxes and customize your colors, ribbons, and music (or opt for a personalized voice message)! I escpecially love the formal stripes cards and pink silk boxes... Welcome, Invite by Voice!

Whispering Pines

I am so excited to welcome back Whispering Pines as a sponsor on Victoria with Roses! I absolutely adore their products because they are so unique and creative! They are a great way to bring some unexpected personality to your wedding. You have to check out their Rustic Wedding Collection. Three of my new favorites: 1. Anchor place card holders (as a new Navy wife, of course!); 2. Songbird cocktail napkins (more unique than everyday white or even monogrammed ones); and 3. These adorable little glass eggs (would make great favors mixed in with Cadbury chocolate eggs in a little bird's nest).

I'm Back!

Thanks for your patience! This is the first time in a year I have taken more than one day off from the blog! Will and I are settling into our home in Virginia, and I'm looking forward to posting daily again! :)
