This is a totally crazy idea, but could be SO much fun: Have your reception in a large bakery's seating area. Make sure the bakery has glass windows looking in on the kitchen (like Georgetown Cupcakes' DC Cupcakes, on TLC). Ask your cake bakers if they can decorate your cake WHILE the reception is going on, so people can watch!
